We are all tired of the question "Would you like to meet our financial adviser?" The "financial adviser" turns out to be little more than a sales person and you end up with a product that perhaps isn't very good and isn't what you wanted. Or it might have been a reasonable product but the process didn't answer the core questions you had.
What you wanted was someone to help you understand your finances, and help you out in the most appropriate way. You also want someone you can go back to when necessary to give you further advice maybe once a year.
In short you probably need an impartial financial mentor.
